Polling for five assembly seats across India began Thursday morning amid tight security arrangements. The polling began at 7 am and it will continue till 6 pm, said officials.

The counting of votes will be held on June 23.

Kaliganj assembly bypoll: Polling for the by-election to the Kaliganj assembly seat in West Bengal’s Nadia district began at 7 am on Thursday, amid tight security arrangements, an official said.

Fourteen companies of central forces have been deployed for the bypoll, which is scheduled to conclude at 5 PM.

Gujarat assembly bypoll: By-elections in Gujarat’s Visavadar and Kadi assembly constituencies started on Thursday, with the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) locked in a three-cornered battle in both seats. Voting began from 7 am to 8 pm, and results will be declared on June 23, according to election officials.
