It’s time to rethink if you have travel plans to Thailand amid escalating tensions and military clashes with Cambodia. The Indian Embassy in Thailand on Friday, July 25, issued a travel advisory warning Indians against travelling to the below listed seven tourist spots:

  • Ubon Ratchathani
  • Surin
  • Sisaket
  • Buriram
  • Sa Kaeo
  • Chanthaburi
  • Trat

The Embassy of India in Thailand posted on X stated, “In view of the situation near Thailand-Cambodia border, all Indian travelers to Thailand are advised to check updates from Thai official sources, including TAT Newsroom. As per the Tourism Authority of Thailand, places mentioned in the following link are not recommended for traveling.” 

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) newsroom listed the key provinces on alert and in a post on X stated, “Due to ongoing unrest along the Thai–Cambodian border, please note that several attractions in 7 provinces are now not recommended for visiting.”

According to Thailand’s deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Health, fourteen Thai people were killed and 46 others injured in military clashes near the Thailand-Cambodia border. Meanwhile Cambodia refrained from releasing any information on its casualties as of Thursday evening, Xinhua news agency reported.
