The Indian Embassy in Iran on Wednesday issued a renewed advisory for its citizens, urging them to “carefully consider” the evolving regional situation before making any non-essential travel plans to Tehran.
The advisory, posted on the embassy’s official X handle, also called on Indian nationals currently in Iran to stay updated on the latest developments in the Middle East and consider using available commercial flights or ferries to leave the country.
“In view of the security-related developments over the past several weeks, Indian nationals are advised to carefully consider the evolving situation before undertaking non-essential travel to Iran,” the advisory said.
“They are also advised to continue to monitor the latest regional developments and follow updated advisories issued by the Indian authorities. Indian nationals already in Iran, and interested in leaving, may avail the commercial flight and ferry options which are available right now,” it added.

Rising tensions in the middle east
The advisory follows a period of heightened military conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States. Last month, Israel launched ‘Operation Rising Lion’ – a large-scale military campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure.
Iran retaliated by launching drone and missile strikes on Israeli territory. The United States lent its support to Israel during the hostilities.
According to Israel, the operation aimed to halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions and prevent the country from acquiring atomic weapons.
On June 22, the US escalated the situation with ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’, striking Iranian nuclear sites at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan using B-2 stealth bombers and bunker-buster bombs. Iran struck back by targeting US military bases in Qatar.
Ceasefire agreement reached after 12 Days
After nearly two weeks of fierce combat, US President Donald Trump announced that Iran and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire. While violations were reported, the truce largely held following strong rebukes from Trump directed at both nations.
During the conflict, the Indian embassy had also issued warnings, advising citizens in Iran to avoid unnecessary movement and follow Tehran’s safety protocols.
