DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -State troopers tell those in central and south Alabama to “stay home” during predicted winter weather.
“If you do not need to be on the road stay at home,” Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Hal Taylor said in a statement Sunday evening.
A low-pressure system moving out of the Gulf into frigid air could bring several inches of snow that will likely stretch southward into Florida on Tuesday.
If the snow freezes—and that is the biggest concern- roads could be impassable, and there is a chance that thousands could lose power.
“Reducing unnecessary travel during dangerous conditions is crucial to preventing accidents,” Taylor said.
