
Varanasi: A Tribes India outlet was inaugurated at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Thursday, as part of the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda.The outlet will make tribal products from across India and local regions available to passengers at LBSI Airport.A part of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), under the ministry of tribal affairs, Govt of India, this is the third Tribes India outlet in Varanasi and the sixth in Uttar Pradesh.Uttar Pradesh has a tribal population of 11 lakh, and TRIFED is working to provide them with livelihood opportunities to support their socio-economic development.Airport director, Puneet Gupta, along with Preeti Tolia, regional manager of TRIFED Uttarakhand and UP, CISF Commandant Suchita Singh, commercial officer AAI Vivek Vikram, and other officials and staff from AAI Varanasi, CISF, and TRIFED, attended the store’s opening.
