
Lucknow: The 2-day Hindu New Year Festival organised jointly by Nav Varsh Chetna Samiti and Shri Shyam Parivar concluded at Khatu Shyam Temple on Sunday.
Chief guest, former IAS Anita Bhatnagar Jain, said, “Wishing each other on the new year is not enough, we have to be conscious towards the environment, stop using plastic and reduce air pollution as our contribution towards mother earth.”
A teacher from Brahmakumari Ishwari Vishvavidyalaya, Prajapati Brahmakumari said, “We all listen to Ram Katha and to bring Ram rajya we need to imbibe Lord Ram’s ideals in our lives.”
President of St Joseph’s School, Pushplata Agarwal, appealed to all to adopt Indian calendar make the important dates part of our lives in order to make future generations happy and content.” Around 11,00 earthen lamps (diyas) were lightened in ‘deepotsav’ programme.
In a cultural item by Katharang Foundation, a troupe led by Puneet Awasthi presented ‘Ram Kahani’ with songs like ‘Hari anant, Hari katha ananta’ and ‘Shri Raghuvar komal nayan ko pahnao jaimala’.
